Deacon Thomas is the “model” of a DEACON needed in today’s world.

Deacon Henry L. Thomas, Sr.

Deacon Henry Thomas, Sr.He is a man worth shallowing and is a prototype for the current and next generation. He was a member of the “Men with the Maroon Coats” – ask him about the early days at Fellowship.

I am sharing the results of our questions and answers interview:

Tell us briefly about your career including activities at Fellowship.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in December 1981 and began my career as an Electronics Engineer at Robins AFB in 1982. During my 37 years career, I worked as an electronics engineer, electronics engineering project manager, lead electronics engineer and have been an engineer supervisor for the past 14 years.

My family started attending FBBC in 1987 but joined in February 1988 the next Sunday after receiving an evangelism visit from Brother Maurice Clay and Rev. John Thomas. While at FBBC I have served as an Usher, served on the Mercy Showing & Serving Team Ministry, Royal Ambassadors Leader, Van Driver, Men’s Fellowship, President of Deacon Ministry, Board of Trustee and Intern Government Body. Currently I am a Deacon, Board of Director Secretary and member of the Sole to Soul Evangelism team

How has your career molded you as a person?

My career has molded me as a person by building a strong leadership background which is not only helpful in my career but also in my community, home and church. I have learned that not everyone has the same personality traits; therefore, it is important to understand the person I am communicating with at all times.

What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

The most important lessons I have learned is to be patience and wait on the Lord. We may want things to happen on our time, but God’s time is not the same as our time.

How would you like to be remembered?

I want to be remembered as a servant of the Lord and one who loved his family and church!

What is “your message” (words of wisdom) to Generations X, Y and Z?

My message to Generation X, Y, and Z is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV). Also don’t be afraid to share your faith with your friends and make time to go over the plan of salvation with them.

What is your “special” Scripture?

My special Scripture is “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV)
