Shipmate Linda was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 20, 1949. She is a widow and has no children. Some insights about Ms. DeShazo:
· What are your hobbies/interests?
I enjoy Decorating and Cooking.
· Tell us briefly about your career including activities at Fellowship.
I am Retired; however we can remember and appreciate her many contributions in supporting the Fellowship Family Functions with her hospitality talents.
· How has your career molded you as a person?
My career path contributed to enhancing my communication and leadership skills. It provided me with the ability to achieve common goals while leading a group of individuals with different strengths, weaknesses, and personality types.
· What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?
I have learned that tomorrow is not promised, and we should take time to enjoy each day and make lasting memories.
· How would you like to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as someone who was real in whatever she did. As a woman who did what her heart said. As a daughter and sister who was loving and dedicated. As a friend who was faithful and caring. As a Christian who loved unconditionally. As a citizen who was responsible and concerned. As someone who was significant in her own little way. As someone who always put a smile on people’s faces.
· What is “your message” (words of wisdom) to Generations X,Y and Z?
My message would be to trust God in all that you do. Do your best and learn from your mistakes.
· What is your “special” Scripture?
Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.
