Seasoned Saint – Sister Ijeffery Rice

Sister Ijeffery RiceAs a member of FBBC, Sister Rice has demonstrated a very tender loving spirit. Using my traditional Q&A Interview Technique I was able to gleam some very interesting facts about Sister Rice and her family.

• When and where were you born?
I am a native of Atlanta born August 9, 1962.

What is your spouse’s name?
Gregory Rice, Sr. is my spouse.

• Do you have children? If yes, how many and their names.
We have two children – Kelly (Tavaghn) Rice-Monts (33) and Gregory Jr. (27) (Wife: Kylila and 20-month old daughter, Alina).

• Tell us briefly about your career including activities at Fellowship.
[Career]: Combination of military and civilian positions. I retired with 28 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves focused in Engineering, Transportation and Logistics. Civilian: After 22 years of Federal service, I currently work in Quality Assurance with the Defense Logistics Agency (Distribution).

[Fellowship Activities]: August 2020 marks a 6-year membership at FBBC. Aside from attending Christian Enrichment,  Bible Study and worship services, my husband and I are committed to physically and financially supporting the short-term and long-term goals set by Pastor Morgan.

• What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?
Consult with and include God on all matters. I have learned that “No” “Thanks, and “Goodbye” are powerful words when used appropriately. Do not come to the table with only problems; also bring a possible solution. It is important to set attainable goals, meet those goals then repeat. Everyone has value; do not discount anyone; find that person’s strength.
