Fellowship Bible Baptist Church’s Seasoned Saint for September 2021 is Brother Jimmy Banks

Brother Banks became a “Shipmate” at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church over 6 years ago. He was born in Miami, Florida on July 4, 1952; married to Joy O. Banks for 33 years; and have 2 sons; Zhimmithee Banks and Garrett Eason, and 4 grandkids, Zoe- 2, Gia–11, Shay- 8 and Cammy–13.

❖ His hobbies and interests are:

Working-out, enjoying his grandkids, helping, and encouraging others with their fitness goals, bike riding, and working in his yard. Bro. Banks is also interest in getting our youth motivated about their future. He is working on a campaign, “Shooting for Higher Goals”, designed to educate and instill in our youth the importance of having specific goals that will help them to be successful in life.

❖ Summary of his career including activities at Fellowship:

  • He joined the United States Air Force after high school in 1970; retired in 1991 as Chief of Production Control. Other than hismilitary duties, he also played basketball for the Air Force and Armed Forces. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Chapman University. In 1995, He began his second career in civil service as a Program Manager for Space Command’s Deep Space Surveillance Program and later Air Force One. He retired from Civil Service in 2018.
  • His activities at Fellowship include: 1. Athletic Ministry, 2. Men’s Ministry and 3. Seasoned Saint Ministry. He had the honor and pleasure of introducing FBBC’s first Faith and Fitness month long celebration. The purpose of the month events was to encourages our FBBC family to be proactive in embracing a healthier lifestyle. Using Fun, Food, Faith and Fitness as ways to improve the quality of life for all ages regardless of abilities or disabilities.

❖ What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

The most important lesson life has taught me is that life is like a boomerang, be careful what you throw out.

❖ How would you like to be remembered?

As a friendly person. My motto is: The best vitamin for making friends is B1.

❖ What is “your message” (words of wisdom) to Generations X,Y and Z?–

My message for this generation is words spoken by King Solomon. He said “Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget
your Creator” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Have fun, prepare for life, and remember who you belong to.

❖ What is your “special” Scripture?

My favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)
