FBBC Ministry Highlights

The Singles Ministry at FBBC is doing an awesome job letting their light shine for Jesus across Middle GA. Moving Forward – “Been There, Done That, Now What? Who Says There’s Something Wrong With Being Single?” Time for us to us Celebrate A New Year and A New You!

Ministry Purpose: To Encourage the Spiritual, Intellectual, Relational and Emotional Growth of Single or Divorced women over the ages of 35 and above within Fellowship Bible Baptist Church, as well as the surrounding community churches with no Single Women Ministries.

Their Mission: To create a stronger more “Virtuous Woman” who will blossom into gaining Self-Confidence & Self Esteem for herself by accepting the Love of Christ.

Their Focus: This class is designed for women 35 and over who has either gone through a divorce or contemplating a divorce, has never been married or has had a new relationship ended abruptly. This class will help single women refocus and not be “afraid” of being single. To stay positive, and to always be confident of themselves during their stages of singleness, regardless of what others my say, feel or think. This series of programs would help women to embrace the life of being single, whether by choice, or by force.

Their Key Bible Verse: Proverbs 31:10-31(key verse 10) “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” This Ministry will give Inspiration, Encouragement, and Support for single Christian women who may or may not feel called to a life of singleness, but whose hearts desire to live a more purposeful life for Jesus Christ through obedience, patience and prayer.

This ministry came into existence in 2011, through a Wednesday Night Bible Study class with the Late Dr. Willie L. Reid Sr. in the “Old Sanctuary”, what we now call the Chapel. Sister Linda Holland, Sister Lula Harris and Sister Zelda Kendrick, stood up during a Q&A session where Pastor Reid asked questions about things we would like to see happen. They expressed to him that there were no classes tailored for single women over 40. Some of them were too old to attend the young adult groups, which stopped at age 35 and some of them were not old enough to attend the Seniors group, which started at age 65. All who stood up, ended up starting the first of many ministry classes and the rest is history. So this is how the Single Women in Ministry-AKA- SWIM Ministry was birthed.

They are truly humbled and blessed to work with such a great group of women and they want the ABSOLUTE BEST for this entire group. They even have those who have graduated from the class and God brought them their perfect Boaz (Jackie Leach-Farms, Mary Smith-Fuller, just to name a few). The purpose of this group is for single women to realize that if God did it for Ruth and Boaz, then he most DEFINITELY CAN do it for the rest of us!
