Agape Ministry In Action

The Agape Ministry at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church is making a strong impact in the church as well as the community. The Agape Ministry, formerly known as the Family Promise Ministry, serves as a support church for Family Promise of Greater Houston County. This support includes providing support meals and fellowship to the homeless within the Houston County area. This year, under the leadership of Carol Reid, the Agape Ministry meals were prepared, delivered, and served on twelve different occasions to homeless families.

The fourteen members of the Agape Ministry also spent time in Fellowship with the families during each visit. Family Promise of Greater Houston County requires training for all members of the support churches so that they may interact with the families. They also participated in the Family Promise Scholarship Fundraiser in September. The word agape is a Christian term referring to love, “the highest form of love, charity” and “the love of God to man and of man for God.” The Agape Ministry is spreading this love from heart to heart, mind to mind, and soul to soul. To God be the glory for what He is doing in this wonderful ministry.
