Ministry-in-Action: The Food Bank

Our society has taken a toll for the worse in the past years due to natural disasters such as earthquakes, California wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes and other devastations mainly related to the economy as a whole. The job market is declining and businesses around the world are struggling to stay open. People are going through tough times and the Food Bank is a ministry designed to reach out to those who are in need of one of life’s most basic essentials, food.

The Food Bank Ministry at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church has been reaching out to people not only in our church, but in the community. This ministry is not just designed to meet physical needs, but to also provide spiritual inspiration. Robert Threatt, who is the ministry leader, and the rest of the members of the Food Bank Ministry are there to offer the plan of salvation to those who have not given their lives to Christ.

Everyone who is in need of food is welcome to come and sign up for assistance and no one will be turned down. The Food Bank is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hopson House (416 Dunbar Road; Warner Robins, GA). Matthew 25:35-40 simply states “I was hungry and you feed me I was thirsty and you gave me food to eat. I was a stranger and you took me in.” Statistics show that 1 in 6 people in America face hunger. Every family deserves food on their table and should not go hungry as long as God is our provider. He will supply all of our needs.
