Financial Assistance

Guidelines for Assistance

Fellowship serves as an assistance center in case of EMERGENCY. We cannot help a person or family on an ongoing basis. If you need constant assistance, please seek help through Federal, State, or Local Government funds. We will ONLY provide help in an emergency situation.

In order to receive assistance, you must have a picture ID, for everyone in the household and proof of income. If we have current copies on file, you may not need to provide these each time you receive assistance.

FOOD: We can only provide emergency food assistance once every six months. If you are already receiving food stamps, you may not be eligible to receive food. If you are not receiving food stamps you are encouraged to apply.

CLOTHES: We can only provide emergency clothing assistance once every six months.

FURNITURE: We can only provide furniture to burnout or natural disaster victims. We are not able to provide furniture to people who are just starting a home or have just moved to the area.

UTILITIES: We can only provide utility assistance once every year, and only in EMERGENCY situations. If you have received help two or more years in a row, you will not be eligible for 2 years. You must have a past-due bill or cut off notice in your name. You should allow at least 3-5 days for a check to be to be issued to and processed by your utility company. We do not assist with deposits, late fees, connect, or re-connect fees.

RENT/MORTGAGE: We can only provide rent assistance once every year, and only in EMERGENCY situations. We will require a form to be filled out by your landlord, which must be returned before we can help you. If you have received help two or more years in a row, you will not be eligible for two years.

Just because your time is up does not mean that you automatically qualify for assistance. Not everyone who applies will receive assistance.

Anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave WITHOUT receiving assistance. Anyone using profanity or causing a disturbance will be asked to leave WITHOUT receiving assistance.

Attendance in a “GOOD SENSE” financial class will be required in order to receive assistance from Fellowship Bible Baptist Church.
